The City of Holly Springs is located just north of Atlanta in the heart of Cherokee County. The City of Holly Springs is five square miles of neighborhoods, businesses, and commercial buildings and numerous turn of the century homes and innovative commercial buildings. Holly Springs is located just five miles south of Canton.

The City was incorporated in 1906, and began building up around a busy train depot established by the L&N Railroad, now the Georgia Northeastern Railway. That train depot is now the Holly Springs Community Center. The estimated population, in 2003, was 4,420.
